Well, folks, this is it. Another season firmly in the books!
Congratulations to each and every one of you – I mean that in all sincerity. Each one of you put forth a tremendous effort this season and that needs to be recognised. We ended up playing a higher ratio of challenging music than I had anticipated and that’s because you all committed and put in the work.
Our final rehearsal is this coming Thursday.
Over the past couple of seasons, I’ve used the last rehearsal to explore pieces I’m not super familiar with from our library. I find this helps me plan for the next season, but it’s also kind of a fun thing to do!
This year, a couple of band members have provided scores, so we’ll read through those. I’ve also come across some arrangements that I’m interested to test out. (I’m not sure they’re all workable, but that’s part of the exploration!)
I hope you’ll be able to join us as we explore some different arrangements!
