Our next two weeks will be performances! And we are ready. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n And now for the concert details: <\/p>\n\n\n\n This is the building directly behind the Safeway. There are limited parking spots in the lot where the building is located, but across Lindenwood Dr, there is a bigger lot with additional parking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Please try your best to arrive for 6:30 pm. This gives us time to do the band shuffle (what happens as people trickle in and we have to more and readjust our seating to accommodate). It also affords you time to get settled in, do a proper warm up, have a quick meditation to mentally prepare, and panic because you forgot your reading glasses (while they’re on your head – don’t worry, someone will tell you).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Collective warm up will start at 6:55 pm.<\/strong> (This means you have already done your personal warm up and tuning. The collective warm up allows us to start playing together and make any adjustments we need). <\/p>\n\n\n\n The baton drops at 7:00 pm sharp.<\/strong> If you’re inviting friends\/family who are not coming in the car with you, this is the time to tell them we start. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Our uniform is flexible – be modest (we are not sexy), make sure any logos or text is appropriate to represent the band, and be as comfortable as the weather (and modesty) allow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Top: Forest green (we have Millennium Band polo shirts available for $25) or Black preferred (if forest green is not available)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Bottom: Black preferred<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dress for safety!! Shorts, sandals, sweaters\/jackets, hats, etc are all appropriate depending on weather and playing conditions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The gig at Lindenwoods takes place outside – weather permitting. They have a lovely shaded courtyard with a pergola outside the dining room where we are normally set up. Several buildings have balconies that face out, so our audience is often larger that who we see sitting in the chairs. If the weather is inclement, we will be relocated inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n With the size of our ensemble, be prepared for some seating gymnastics and to get to know your neighbours well. The space outside is narrow, so expect more rows than usual. The space inside is full of pillars, so that will be its own puzzle to solve! <\/p>\n\n\n\n We’re pretty casual about attendance – it is a summer band, and summer’s gonna summer. Having said that, if we are missing critical parts, I’ll have to do some analysis to ensure coverage of critical parts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Please take a moment to check out: Administrative Operations<\/a> if you haven’t already done so.
